RIMS organises tree plantation

As part of the week-long Van Mahotsav 2026 celebrations, the Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), Imphal, organised a tree plantation drive today at its Type-III and Type-IV Residential Quarters under the nationwide “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” campaign. A cleanliness drive was also conducted from the IMA approach road/SIB Gate to Gate No. 2 (Burn Ward) via the institute’s main gate.

The programme was attended by State Advisor to the Chief Minister Dr. S. Krishnananda Sharma, RIMS Director Prof. G. Sunil Kumar Sharma, Medical Superintendent Prof. N. Sanjib Singh, and Nodal Officer for SAP/Kayakalp 2025-26 Prof. Y. Govindaraj Singh.

Addressing the gathering, Dr. Krishnananda Sharma said Manipur has the potential to become one of India’s cleanest, healthiest and fittest states through collective efforts and active public participation. The RIMS Director reaffirmed the institute’s commitment to expanding green cover, maintaining campus cleanliness, and promoting environmental conservation. The programme witnessed participation from faculty members, staff, students, resident doctors and local residents.
