Irilbung police organise cleanliness drive

As part of its community policing initiative, personnel of Irilbung Police Station, led by the Officer-in-Charge under the supervision of the Superintendent of Police, Imphal East, on Sunday conducted a cleanliness drive and tree plantation programme at Kongba Bazar in Imphal East with the active participation of local Meira Paibis.

The drive aimed to improve sanitation in the market area while promoting environmental conservation through the planting of tree saplings.

A representative of the Kongba Meira Paibis appreciated the initiative, stating that the area had remained unclean for a long time despite repeated complaints to the concerned municipal authorities. She said the accumulation of waste had caused environmental pollution and foul odour, affecting residents and visitors to the locality.

She expressed gratitude to Officer-in-Charge R.K. Chingkhiu and the personnel of Irilbung Police Station for coordinating with the Meira Paibis to clean the area, and hoped that such community-oriented initiatives would continue in the future.

The tree plantation programme was also organised to create awareness about environmental protection and encourage collective responsibility towards maintaining a clean and green environment.
