Imphal, Aug 23:
The Department of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery at the Dental College, RIMS, Imphal, in collaboration with the Indian Dental Association (IDA), Manipur State Branch, organized a Continuing Dental Education (CDE) program on Patient Specific Implants (PSI) on August 23, 2024. The event took place at the Dental College Examination Hall, RIMS, Imphal, and was attended by various dignitaries, including Prof. G. Sunil Kumar Sharma, Director of RIMS, Imphal, who served as the Chief Guest. Dr. B. Praveen Reddy, Principal of Dental College, RIMS, Imphal, and Ratankumar Singh, President of IDA, Manipur State Branch, were also present at the event.
In his address, the Director of RIMS, Imphal, emphasized that the CDE program would play a crucial role in enhancing dental education not only within the state but across the country. He highlighted the growing importance of dental care, noting that it is essential for both health and aesthetics. He also mentioned the future plans to expand the institute by increasing the number of BDS and MDS seats and initiating Senior Residency programs to provide the best facilities to the community.
The program also featured a presentation by Dr. Kiran Kumar Boyina, Associate Professor at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Bhubaneswar, who discussed the advantages of Patient Specific Implants (PSI). The event was attended by Dr. Deepak N. Singh, Honorary Secretary of IDA, Manipur State Branch, along with doctors, staff, and students from the Dental College, RIMS, Imphal.
