Shanta Laishram, Professor of Mathematics & Head of the Theoretical Statistics and Mathematics Unit at Indian Statistical Institute (ISI), Delhi Centre, India has been invited for a talk at the International Conference on Fibonacci Numbers and Their Applications to be held at Claremont, USA from July 8 to July 12, 2024. He will deliver his talk on the title: Terms of Lucas sequences which are products of Catalan numbers and related results.
During his month-long visit to the USA, he will have an academic visit to California State University from 13-19 July 2024; Xavier University of Louisiana from 19-27 July 2024, and Purdue University Northwest from July 29 to August 1, 2024.
Prof. Shanta Laishram’s research interests are in the areas of Number Theory and Cryptography.
He completed his M.Sc and Ph.D in Mathematics from the School of Mathematics, Tata Institute of Fundamental Research(TIFR), Mumbai in 2004 and 2007, after Graduation in Mathematics Honours from the D, M College of Science, Imphal in 2001.
He received the Harish Chandra Memorial Award 2008 for the best Ph.D. Thesis in Mathematics at TIFR Mumbai.
He did his Post-Doctoral Fellow at the Department of Pure Mathematics, University of Waterloo, Canada from August 2007 to August 2009.
He joined as Assistant Professor of Mathematics at the Indian Statistical Institute, New Delhi, India in July 2010 and was later promoted to Professor of Mathematics in December 2020.
