The People’s Progressive Committee of Manipur (PPCM) and the Lamyanba Irabot Ningsing Thouram Observation Committee have announced a month-long commemoration of the life and legacy of Lamyanba Irabot, a revered leader whose dream was to bring unity among the people of Manipur. The commemoration will take place throughout September, with various events planned to honor his contributions and vision.
The committees emphasized the absence of a leader like Lamyanba Irabot in today’s times and expressed their commitment to keeping his ideals alive. The month-long program will include tree plantation drives, martial arts training, and first aid workshops in schools across the state. Additionally, discussions on the life and works of Lamyanba Irabot will be held, ensuring that younger generations understand the significance of his contributions.
The commemoration will culminate with events on two significant dates: the death anniversary of Lamyanba Irabot on September 26 and his birth anniversary on September 31. As part of the celebrations, an open patriotic song competition will be organized to inspire and engage the youth in the spirit of patriotism and unity that Lamyanba Irabot championed.
