The importance of peace and development for progress was highlighted by Thangmeiband AC MLA Kh. Joykisan during the Foundation Day celebration of the Thangmeiband Youth Centre in Hijam Dewan Leikai, Thangmeiband. The event, marking the 33rd foundation of the Youth Centre, saw MLA Joykisan delivering a message emphasizing that lasting peace is essential for sustainable development.
During his speech, MLA Joykisan noted that peace must be maintained at the local level for any meaningful development to occur. He emphasized the role of local clubs in fostering peace and suggested that they should provide input for future plans to ensure the well-being of the community. He also praised the suggestions made by local residents during the event.
Joykisan mentioned that despite the challenges posed by COVID-19, the administration had worked to ensure development in the area, including improvements in infrastructure. He pointed out that Thangmeiband, particularly, had seen significant progress, with 90% of the roads now being concrete, which had positively impacted transportation and accessibility in the region.
The MLA assured the community that the development initiatives would continue, focusing on maintaining peace and furthering infrastructure projects in the coming years.
