The Manipur International Youth Centre (MIYC) has extended its heartfelt congratulations to Khuraijam Athouba on his election as the Coordinator of the Coordinating Committee on Manipur Integrity (COCOMI) for the 2025-2026 term. In a press release, the youth centre praised Athouba’s untiring commitment to human rights, highlighting his active involvement in international advocacy efforts, notably his participation in the 57th Session of the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC) in Geneva, where he raised concerns about the rights and dignity of indigenous communities in Northeast India, was commended.
MIYC also welcomed the newly elected office bearers of COCOMI and expressed gratitude to the outgoing team for their dedicated service to the people of Manipur. The youth centre called on Athouba and his team to strengthen unity and collaboration among civil society organisations (CSOs) in Manipur. In light of the state’s diverse and multi-ethnic community, MIYC urged COCOMI to foster inclusivity and mutual respect in addressing the challenges faced by the people of Manipur, with a focus on sustainable peace, development, and the preservation of integrity and harmony.
