The District Administration of Jiribam, under the guidance of Deputy Commissioner Krishna Kumar, resumed the District-level Meeyamgi Numit programme today at the DC Office Complex after a long hiatus. Over 250 participants attended, and approximately 129 applications were received by various line departments. Out of these, 115 were resolved on the spot, while 14 remain under process.
Services delivered during the programme included the distribution of CMST Cards by the Social Welfare Department, saplings and seedlings by the Forest Department, school uniforms and textbooks by the Education Department, seeds by the Horticulture Department, and pesticides by the Agriculture Department. Additionally, various applications related to drinking water supply and housing construction were processed.
Speaking to the media, Deputy Commissioner Krishna Kumar highlighted that the Meeyamgi Numit initiative is aligned with the vision of good governance set by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister N. Biren Singh, aiming to bring government services closer to the people. Kumar also announced that the programme will be held every second Saturday from next month onwards.
The Deputy Commissioner expressed gratitude to district-level officers and the public for their support in making the event successful despite the challenges faced by Jiribam District. He mentioned plans to organize Meeyamgi Numit at various strategic locations across the district, including Ima Market. Kumar also urged the media to raise awareness about the programme to increase participation and help the public access more services.
In the later part of the event, the DC briefed District Level Officers (DLOs) and staff about tracking pending applications and ensuring their resolution before the next Meeyamgi Numit.
The programme was also attended by key officials including Superintendent of Police Kh. Robinsun Singh, Additional Deputy Commissioner Th. Manoranjan Singh, Sub-Divisional Officer Jiribam Borobekra Laishram Roshan Singh, DFO Jiribam, Executive Officer of the Jiribam Municipal Council, and various other district officers.
As part of the initiative, Kendriya Police Kalyan Bhandar also provided grocery and household items at subsidized rates to the public attending the event.
