Imphal, Sept 6:
Maipakpi Maternity Hospital has expressed concern over the recent handling of a consumer case judgment that reportedly blindsided the hospital’s management and legal team. A ruling in Consumer Case No. I of 2020, delivered on September 2, 2024, came to the hospital’s attention only days later through a local newspaper, “Huiyen Lanpao”, a statement said.
The hospital has raised questions about the State Commission Dispute Redressal Forum’s process, particularly regarding its failure to notify the involved parties of the judgment. The last hearing for the case was held in February 2024, with no subsequent dates communicated to the hospital. Despite inquiries made by the hospital’s legal team in April and May of 2024, no updates were provided, leaving the hospital unaware of the court’s decision.
The hospital now plans to challenge the ruling through legal channels, reaffirming its commitment to its patients and to ensuring that the case is addressed fairly. Maipakpi Maternity Hospital remains firm in its dedication to delivering quality care despite the recent legal setback.
