The Lions Club of Imphal Valley inaugurated the Imphal West District Police Booth near IMA Market 2, Khwairamband Bazar, in a ceremony attended by key figures. The booth was handed over by Kh Joykishan Singh, MLA of Thangmeiband, to the Imphal City Police in the presence of Lion Th Kesho Singh, District Governor of Lions International District 322D, Past District Governor Lion Prof W Gopimohon Singh, and Imphal East SP K Meghachandra Singh. Also present were Lion Dr N Romi Singh and members of the Lions Club of Imphal Valley.
SP K Meghachandra Singh expressed his gratitude to the Lions Club for establishing the booth in a strategic location, emphasizing its role in enhancing police operations and providing shelter during harsh weather.
Lion Th Kesho Singh noted that the initiative would help strengthen the relationship between the police and the community, and he hoped for more similar projects in the future.
Later in the day, the Lions Club of Imphal Valley held its deferred Charter Nite ceremony at Hotel Nirmala, which also marked an official visit by the District Governor. Singh praised the club for its leadership in supporting Mission 1.5, adding 14 new members and 25 newly chartered members. A special appreciation certificate from the Lions International President was awarded to the club.
During the event, Singh inducted new members of the Lions Club of Imphal Valley NextGen, the club’s second charter. The NextGen Board of Directors was also installed, with Lion Saket Jain Bagda as President.
