Lions Club of Imphal honours four retired teachers

Imphal, Sept 22:

Four retired teachers were honoured by Lions Club of Imphal as a part of observance of Teachers’ Day 2024 in a function held at its Service Centre, Sangaiprou. The teachers are Akham Domarendra Singh, retired Senior Lecturer, Moirang Multipurpose Higher Secondary School, Ahongshangbam Sukumar Singh, retired Principal Azad Higher Secondary School, Yairipok, Chungkham Subadani Devi, retired Principal Standard College, Imphal and Prof Thoudam Nandarani Devi, retired Professor, College of Nursing, Medical Directorate. They were presented with a shawl and citation as symbol of honour and appreciation for their selfless service. The retired teachers expressed deep gratitude to Lions Club of Imphal for recognizing the services they had rendered for the welfare of student community.
President of the Club Lion O. Ranjit expressed that honouring retired teachers is a permanent project of the Club. Past District Governor, Lion MJF H. Manikumar graced the function as Chief Guest. On the other hand, Lions Peace Poster Contest, 2024 on the theme “Peace Without Limits” was also held at the same premises. About 35 students in the age group 11 to 13 years participated in the contest. The first prize was won by Angela Heikrujam of Kendriya Vidyalaya No. 1, Lamphelpat while Sunaina Saikhom of the same school won the second prize.
