In a proud moment for Manipur and the nation, Dr. Khoisnam Tokyo Meetei, Assistant cum Data Entry Operator at the Juvenile Justice Board under the Social Welfare Department, Government of Manipur, has been conferred the Global Peace Icon Award 2025 during the Global Peace Awards ceremony marking International Peace Day.
The award was presented by Raghav Sharma, Founder and Head of Peace Initiatives, at an event dedicated to recognizing individuals who have made outstanding contributions toward peace, harmony, and social service.
Dr. Meetei is widely respected for his humanitarian efforts, especially his initiatives for marginalized communities and the elderly. In a remarkable gesture of compassion, he has been providing pensions to senior citizens from his own salary, an act he carries out in memory of his late father, Khoisnam Koba Meetei.
The Global Peace Icon Award honours individuals who embody compassion, service, and peace. Dr. Meetei’s recognition underscores his role as a beacon of hope in Manipur, inspiring many with his dedication to service beyond his official duties.
