Ukhrul, Sept 25:
A landmark in educational innovation was marked today with the release of two pioneering books authored by National Teacher Awardee Eno. Ningmareo Shimray, Lecturer at Ukhrul Higher Secondary School. The books—Introducing the Concept of Sub-Syllables in the English Language and Workshop Format and The New Strategy of Learning Calculating Skills: Discovery of Bi-Quartet Number System—were launched at the Tangkhul Theological Association (TTA) Smart Hall, Hamreikhong, Hungpung.

Every child has unique and special talent. Teachers must venture beyond textbooks and outdated methods to help children discover their true potential.

The programme, organised by Hunphun Katamnao Long (HKL) and hosted by the ZEO Ukhrul, was graced by Ashish Das, IAS, Deputy Commissioner of Ukhrul, and former NCW member Madam Soso Shaiza, along with educators, leaders, and students.
DC Ashish Das, while releasing the English pronunciation book, termed it “a significant breakthrough” and urged awareness campaigns to bring the concept into classrooms. Madam Soso Shaiza, unveiling the mathematics book, admired its uniqueness, remarking that such discoveries could raise educational standards similar to Kerala’s model. ZEO Ukhrul Badan Thaimei praised Ningmareo as “not just a teacher, but a reformer and educationist.”
In his address, Ningmareo, recipient of the 2021 National Teacher Award, recalled his two-decade-long pursuit of innovation. He explained that his sub-syllable method (developed in 2020) enables accurate pronunciation based on leading dictionaries and is adaptable to multiple languages. His Bi-Quartet Number System (discovered in 2019) equips even slow learners to master calculations while pushing fast learners to excel, with many achieving perfect scores.
He announced free workshops across Ukhrul schools and colleges, stressing accessibility. “My dream is to see our children become resourceful human beings, not just in academics but in life,” he said.
The event concluded with applause, hailed as a milestone in Ukhrul’s educational journey, with the books expected to inspire new teaching methods and innovations.
