District-level essay and painting competition held in Bishnupur

As part of the 71st Wildlife Week Celebration, a district-level on-the-spot essay writing and painting competition was organized today at Bishnupur Higher Secondary School. The event was held under the supervision of Divisional Forest Officer (DFO) Bishnupur, Waikhom Romabai, with the theme “Living with Wildlife.”
The competition was officially inaugurated by the DFO, with active participation from Range Forest Officer Bishnupur HQ RK Sadananda, Range Forest Officer Mutum Nilamani, and other staff members of the Bishnupur Forest Division.
A total of 160 students from 16 schools across Bishnupur District, ranging from Class V to Class X, took part in the event. The competition aimed to raise awareness about wildlife conservation and foster creativity among young learners.
Winners of the competition will be awarded citations and cash prizes on September 24 at the DFO Bishnupur office.
Speaking at the event, RK Sadananda emphasized the importance of educating children about the protection of forests and wildlife. He encouraged students to become ambassadors of conservation and to appreciate the natural heritage of their surroundings.
