COVID-19 Update: Six new cases reported, Active cases rise to 80

Manipur recorded six new COVID-19 cases in the past 24 hours, according to the latest health bulletin issued by the State Health Department under the Integrated Disease Surveillance Programme (IDSP). The data, updated at 2:00 PM on July 2, 2025, shows a steady rise in the number of active cases, which now stands at 80.
Among the new cases, Imphal West reported the highest with four positive cases out of 22 samples tested, registering a positivity rate of 18.2 percent. Imphal East detected one positive case out of seven samples (14.3 percent), while Bishnupur reported one positive case from a single sample, showing a 100 percent positivity rate for the day. No deaths were reported during the period, and the cumulative death toll since June 1 remains at zero.
Since the beginning of June, a total of 925 COVID-19 samples have been tested across the state, with 269 returning positive. In terms of testing methods used today, nine samples were tested through RT-PCR/TrueNat with two returning positive results. Three samples were tested through CBNAAT with no positive cases, while 21 samples were tested through Rapid Antigen Test, of which four were found positive.
At present, 76 individuals are under home isolation. Seventeen patients were discharged in the last 24 hours after completing the mandatory seven-day isolation period. So far, 172 people have been discharged from home isolation, bringing the total number of home-isolated patients since June to 248.
A total of 18 patients were discharged today, raising the cumulative number of recovered cases since June 1 to 189. No COVID-related fatalities have been recorded since then.
According to cumulative data since the outbreak of the pandemic, Manipur has reported a total of 1,40,309 COVID-19 cases. Out of these, 1,38,080 have recovered, while the overall death toll remains at 2,149.
The Health Department continues to monitor the situation closely and has urged citizens to remain cautious, follow health safety measures, and report symptoms promptly to control the spread of infection.
