The All Manipuri Gorkha Mothers’ Associations (AMMAG) has strongly condemned a series of recent violent incidents in Manipur, including the killing of two children at Tronglaobi on April 7.
In a statement, the association also denounced a reported firing incident on April 8 around 9:30 pm, in which one Lenkhogen Tuboi sustained a bullet injury. It further condemned another incident of alleged indiscriminate firing by unidentified gunmen at Kanglatongbi late Thursday night.
Describing the incidents as deeply disturbing, AMMAG expressed concern over the deteriorating law and order situation, stating that such acts have created fear and insecurity among civilians.
The association conveyed solidarity with the affected families and urged the authorities to take immediate and decisive action. It called for a swift and transparent investigation to identify those responsible and ensure accountability.
AMMAG also appealed for strengthening security measures at the ground level and taking preventive steps to avoid recurrence of such incidents, stressing that the safety and protection of civilians must remain a priority.
