Tamenglong hosts “Brand Manipur” training on branding and packaging of food products

A training programme on “Branding and Packaging of Food Products of Manipur” under the RAMP Project (MN5.3 Brand Manipur) was held today at the Conference Hall, Peace Hotel, Tamenglong Headquarters.
The one-day event featured resource persons Abung Thomas, General Manager, District Industries Centre, Tamenglong, and Dr. Nilay Kanti Pramanik, Deputy Director, Indian Institute of Packaging (IIP), Kolkata. D Meidinbui, MCS, SDo Tamenglong, attended as chief guest, while TP Pantithan, President, Traders’ Association Tamenglong, as the guest of honour.
Addressing participants, TP Pantithan urged stakeholders to prioritise local produce and local traders, saying this focus is essential to enhance the economic growth of the area. Chief guest Meidinbui emphasized the role of proper packaging in attracting customers and ensuring food safety.
The programme was organised by the Indian Institute of Packaging, Kolkata. According to the Deputy Manager of IIP, the training series was conducted across Manipur’s districts, with Tamenglong serving as the final session. The initiative aims to promote both food and non-food products of Manipur by building capacity in branding and packaging.
