The All Club Organisation and Meira Paibi Lup (ACOAM-Lup), Kangleipak, today observed Integrity Protection Day 2025 at its head office located at Laishram Leirak, DC Road, Lamphel.
In a statement issued by the organisation, ACOAM-Lup said the day is observed annually to commemorate the historic people’s uprising of June 2001, during which 18 individuals sacrificed their lives in protest against the inclusion of the phrase “without territorial limits” in the ceasefire agreement between the Government of India and NSCN-IM. The mass movement ultimately compelled the Government of India to withdraw the contentious words from the agreement.
ACOAM-Lup stated that the day is remembered as a symbol of the people’s unity and commitment to safeguarding Manipur’s territorial integrity. While the day is usually marked with large public gatherings and tributes, this year’s observance was held in a low-key manner in view of the ongoing crisis that has left thousands internally displaced across the state.
