Meetei Erol Eyek Loinasillol Apunba Lup (Meelal), Kangleipak, has successfully conducted an examination to assess proficiency in Meetei Mayek among students accorss the valley districts on last Thursday. The exam also took place across Jiribam and various valley districts. The examination witnessed the participation of 10,000 students spread over 38 centers.
The initiative aimed to promote the Meetei script and extend support to students from relief camps and orphanages affected by recent unrest. The examination, which commenced at 11:00 AM, covered students from Class I to Class X, categorized into six different levels based on their academic stages.
The top performers in each category are set to receive cash prizes of Rs. 7000, Rs. 6000, and Rs. 5000, respectively. Additionally, 15 students from each category will be awarded Rs. 1000 each, and all participants will receive certificates acknowledging their proficiency in Meetei Mayek.
The results of the examination will be announced on August 15, 2024, and will be widely disseminated through print and electronic media. A formal awards ceremony is scheduled for August 18, 2024, aligning with MEELAL’s 22nd anniversary. During this event, the prizes and certificates will be distributed to the successful candidates.
