ZUF celebrates 16th Raising Day with resounding call to action

The 16th Raising Day of Zeliangrong United Front (ZUF) was marked with fanfare at Mount Ararat, Council Headquarters, Khoupum Sub-division, Noney District on February 25, 2026. The event, themed “Honouring the past, Defending the Future”, saw the participation of thousands of people from across Zeliangrong inhabited areas.
Jenchui Kamei, Chairman, ZUF, and Aihong Riamroi, General Secretary, ZUF, graced the occasion as Chief Guest and Guest of Honour, respectively. In his address, Chairman Jenchui Kamei expressed gratitude to the massive public turnout, emphasizing that settling the Zeliangrong political issue is a collective responsibility. He outlined the future of the Zeliangrong political movement, calling for unity and cooperation.
Guest of Honour Aihong Riamroi highlighted the significance of the raising day, underscoring the importance of honouring the past and defending the future.
The event featured a flag hoisting ceremony by the Chief Guest, followed by a drill display by the Zeliangrong Tiger Force (ZTF). Students from Khoupum areas schools showcased their talents through choreography, cultural dances, Jodonang parade, and performances of the Zeliangrong Anthem and special songs. Zeliangrong artists Azei Kamei and Kalimpi Riamei enthralled the audience with patriotic songs.
Leaders from various CSOs, village authority leaders, social activists, and the public attended the event. The program concluded with a closing prayer by Pastor Gainailung Malangmei Gahtao Baptist Church.
The 16th Raising Day celebrations served as a powerful reminder of the Zeliangrong people’s resolve to forge ahead, united in their pursuit of a common goal.
