ZP member Niken Seram distributes relief material to around 11,000 household

As part of the continued provision of relief services to the people during the Covid-19 Lockdown period, Imphal East Zilla Parishad Member Seram Neken today distributed edible items to the people of Bashikhong Gram Panchayat through the local clubs. The local clubs complied the Social Distancing norms during the distribution of relief materials. Edible items like salt, dal and potato were distributed to the people as a part of the relief service.
Volunteers of local clubs namely Mangaal Club, Bashikhong Mamang Leikai; Meira Association, Bashikhong; Bashikhong Panthoibi Youth Club; Naharol Yaipha Thourang Club, Okram Chuthek; and Community Recreation Centre cum Library, Ningomthong were actively involved in the distribution service.
So far, around 11,000 households under the jurisdiction of Uchekon Nongchup Gram Panchayat, Uchekon Nongpok Gram Panchayat, Khongman Gram Panchayat, Torban Kshetri Leikai Gram Panchayat and Bashikhong Gram Panchayat have been covered.
Seram Neken, while speaking during the distribution of materials, thanked the local clubs and ward members for their active involvement in distribution of edible items to the lockdown affected people. As a representative of the rural people, he appealed to the well-to-do members of the society to help the poor in their localities during the prevailing crisis.
He also appealed to the people to stay at home and observe social distancing norms prescribed by World Health Organisation, Government of India and Government of Manipur, so as to protect ourselves from the Corona Virus infection. He said that people everywhere are now encountering two types of challenges – to protect ourselves from the spread of COVID-19 or Corona Virus and also so avail the basic day to day needs of the family during the long Lockdown period.
