Imphal, Mar 25:

The Zeliangrong Students’ Union Delhi (ZSUD) expressed strong condemnation of the killing of three people from Lamhai Namdi Village under Peren District, Nagaland on March 22, 2021.
A statement by Zeliangrong Students’ Union Delhi said that the massacre of innocent lives and unhindered firing upon unarmed and unsuspected farmers by a group of fully armed men with sophisticated weapons is the worst form of cowardice and there is no place for such barbaric actions in a civilized society.
The alleged scale and gravity of these attacks such as cutting off limbs and burning them after killing is the most barbaric and horrifying act. No cause can justify such brutality and senseless killing. Perpetrators of this heinous crime should be held accountable and brought to justice at the earliest.
The ZSUD appeals to the Government and the concerned law enforcing agencies to take prompts action and arrest the culprits and punish them. We also appeal to all Naga National Workers irrespective of the organizations to come forward and extent active cooperation to arrest the culprits and award befitting punishment. This is the time to show your commitment and integrity if you ever claim to be working for the interest of all the Nagas. Your silence and turning a blind eye to this heinous crime happening under your own nose would be taken by the Zeliangrong people and the Nagas in general as an endorsement and encouragement to such criminals. We firmly believe that any misunderstanding or conflict should be resolved amicably through mutual discussion without resorting to violence.
