Yet another bandh cripples Imphal Ukhrul road; this time for killing of youth by CDO

A day after the government had calm down the anger of the Gwaltabi villagers who has been imposing indefinite blockade along the Imphal Ukhrul road, another JAC formed against the killing of a youth by Manipur Police Commando has imposed indefinite blockade from today.
Large number of people came out at Imphal -Ukhrul road at Khurai Konsam leikai area and blocked all sort of traffic by burning tyres in the middle of the road and placed stones and woods to prevent locomotion along the route.
The protest is being staged against the killing of a youth identified as Konsam Korounganba (18) son of Konsam Rajen of Khurai Konsam leikai and injuring another youth identified as Vevek Singh of Hiyanthang at around 6.30 pm yesterday at Kangla Sangom Sang in Imphal East. Two other youth identified as Chandam Premananda @ Dong , son of Gouramohon of Khurai Chandam Leikai and Manoj Chabungbam of Hiyanthang were also arrested by the police commando. All the four came together in a Maruti car. According to report, the police fire the vehicle resulting the dead of the youth after they did not stopped to the instruction of the Police Commando.
Wrath over the access of the state police, a JAC has been formed against the brutal killing of Konsam Korounganba and during a public meeting held today morning it has been resolved to call an indefinite bandh at Imphal urkhul road from today. The meeting also resolved to put up 7 points demand to the government, which includes immediate punishment of the police Commando personnel by terminating them from their services. The meeting also demanded to release the other two youths who were arrested unconditionally. The JAC further resolved not to accept the dead body till the demands are fulfilled.
