Womenfolk protests threatening residents at Khurai Ahongei

IT News Imphal, Feb 3: Members of Khurai Ahongei Thangjam Nupi Kanglup and Khurai Ahongei Meira Paibi Lup organize a protest today against the threats and verbal abuse faced by a resident, named Shri Leitanthem Dhananjoy at Ward no. 23, Khurai Ahongei Thangjam Leikai. Wahenbam Suniti, Vice President of Khurai Ahongei Thangjam Leikai Nupi Kanglup, shared details of the distressing incident with Imphal Times. She reveals that individuals in a Bolero vehicle approached the residence of Dhananjoy while he was not there and they verbally abused and issued threats. The motive behind these actions remains unclear, as the concerned individuals or organization responsible for the harassment have not been identified. She says that this is the third time such an unfortunate incident has occurred. Expressing concern over the rising frequency of such incidents, Suniti emphasized the need for collaboration and cooperation within the community. “We do not know what organization is behind this. We have been supporting everyone. We have come together to protest against such behavior. We need to address these issues peacefully, and we have always extended help. We need cooperation too,” stated Suniti during the interview. The womenfolk, disturbed by the recurring threats, highlighted the escalating nature of such events and expressed fear for the overall safety of the residents in the area.
