Dr. Konsam Basanta Singh, born to late Konsam Kullachandra Singh and late Konsam Lukamani Devi, stands as a remarkable testament to a life devoted to promoting holistic well-being at the age of 67. His journey unfolds as a rich tapestry of experiences and accomplishments, leaving an indelible mark in the field of AYUSH.
Educational Odyssey: Shaping Expertise in Naturopathy and Yoga
Dr. Basanta’s educational journey is marked by a four-year course in Naturopathy and Yoga, now known as B.N.Y.S. Furthering his expertise, he earned a Post Graduate Diploma in Yoga and Naturopathy (P.G. D.Y.N), laying the foundation for his impactful career in holistic health.
Service Record: A Decades-Long Commitment to AYUSH
Since 2007, Dr. Basanta has served as a Medical Officer (AYUSH) at P.H.C. Bashikhong, Imphal East, showcasing his unwavering commitment to the field. His leadership roles include being the Zonal Secretary of Akhil Bharatiya Prakritik Chikitsa, New Delhi, and the President of the All Manipur AYUSH Doctors Association (AMADA) from 2005 to 2017.
Community Engagement: A Champion for Holistic Health
Continuing to actively contribute to the community, Dr. Basanta serves as the Advisor for AMADA since 2018, holding positions in national and state-level health associations. As a member of the Indian Nature Cure & Yoga Association since 2001, he currently holds the position of Vice President at Arogya Bharati, Manipur State, starting from January 16, 2023. His active involvement from 1986 to 1990 in the National Youth Project, Manipur Branch, further demonstrates his commitment to community well-being. Additionally, he is the Founder Secretary-cum-Chief Consultant of Yoga & Nature Cure Hospital in Kongba, Imphal East, a role he has held since 2003.
Health Awareness Advocate: Initiatives Beyond Organizational Roles
Dr. Basanta’s influence extends beyond organizational roles, with initiatives such as organizing Naturopathy and Yoga camps since 1997, offering free treatments to the public. His efforts also include establishing over 20 Yoga Centers in Imphal East, providing free classes to the community.
Other Initiatives: Commitment to Free Naturopathy Treatment and Training
Evidencing his dedication, Dr. Basanta hosts an annual Free Naturopathy Treatment-cum-Training Camp since 2003, benefiting countless individuals. His commitment to holistic health is further highlighted by free consultations and treatments offered at various Yoga Centers, including Patanjali’s, since 2011.
Recognition and Awards: Acknowledgment of Tireless Efforts
Dr. Konsam Basanta Singh’s tireless efforts have earned him several prestigious awards, including the Surya Foundation Award in 2001 and the National Excellence Award 2005-06 from the National Research Institute of Medical Science, Mumbai, Maharashtra. The North East Council of Alternative Medicine Silchar, Assam, also recognized his contributions with the Award of Appreciation in 2008. In 2019, he received another Award of Appreciation from Akhil Bhartiya Prakitic Chikitsa, New Delhi.
