While condemning the Manipur government memorandum issued by the Directorate of University and Higher Education on August 10 restricting college teachers from giving public opinion on government policy without prior permission, the United Peoples’ Front (UPF) Manipur today said that any solution by distorting the integrity of Manipur between the government of India and the NSCN-IM, when people are facing extreme suffering due to the COVID-19 pandemic will not be tolerated.
A statement said that it is time for each and every Manipuri to discuss and debate for the protection of the 2000 years old civilization as the solution between the Government of India and the NSCN-IM is marching towards integration of all Nagas in Assam Manipur and Arunachal Pradesh under the constitution of India. The UPF said that it is unfortunate that the government of Manipur is silencing the voice of the college teachers when the solution for the “Peace talk” between the GOI and the NSCN-IM is making its way for formation of a pan Naga Hoho and Naga Autonomous Council amidst the suffering face by the people due to COVID-19 crisis, Political crisis and drug smuggling crisis .
The UPF warns serious consequences if the integrity of the state is distorted by silencing the voice of the people.
