The fate of the 5329 students who passed the class ten exam conducted by the Board of Secondary Education Manipur (BOSEM) in compartmental should not be put into jeopardy and schools in the state, both government as well as private should not deny the opportunity for admission to these students said a press release issued by the Kangleipak Students’ Association (KSA) today. The release further added that the conduct of the state government which is regarded as an attempt to sideline these students will not be tolerated and the state government as well as the private schools should jointly make arrangements for the admissions while adding that some educational institutions in the state should stop trying to benefit themselves by putting pressure on the parents of the students for fees while people are suffering from the present pandemic situation and many people are uncertain of the next meal. The release further mentioned that the students’ boy have received a lot of complaints regarding high amount of tuition fees as well as admission fees which must be stopped immediately before the list is made public. Students having gap year due to unavoidable circumstances should not be prevented from getting further admission and any official order in contrast to this, if any, should be made public through the media, the release said. Stating that the pressure being given to parents of students who are to appear for the 10th and 12th examinations by some educational institutions to put their children in hostels and charging high amounts should be put to stop immediately, the release emphasized that special attention will be give in this regard.
