Viral Video Row: Four accused remanded to 11 days’ police custody

In the communal violence hit State of Manipur for the last 80 days, the four accused, who have been arrested on Thursday in connection with the viral videos of two women paraded naked by unknown armed miscreants, have been remanded to police custody for 11 days.
The four accused have been produced virtually to the Court of Judicial Magistrate First Class, Thoubal on Friday. The Court of Judicial Magistrate ordered to remand all the four accused to Police custody till the 31st of this month.
It may be mentioned that one of the main accused in the case was arrested on Thursday morning from his house at Pechi village under Nongpok Sekmai Police station in Thoubal District by a combined team of Imphal East District Police and Thoubal District Police. Later, three other accused were also arrested on the same day.
One case of abduction, gang rape and murder etc. has already been registered at Nongpok Sekmai Police Station against unknown armed miscreants in connection with the incident of 4 May last. Investigation is going on with an all-out effort by State Police to nab the remaining culprits at the earliest in connection with the heinous crime.

The four accused who have been remanded to police custody for 11 days are Huirem Herodas and Ningombam Tomba of Pechi Awang Leikai, Yumlembam Jiban of Nongpok Sekmai Awang Leikai and Khundongbam Arun of Sikhong Bazar from Thoubal District in Manipur.
