Imphal, Feb 20:
United People’s Revolutionary Front of Manipur (UPRFM), an armed rebel group, while boycotting the visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi has called total shut down in Manipur from 1 am of February 22.
A statement of the outfit said that even though the Prime Minister visited the state frequently its bring no good for the future of the Kangleipak. Using the mask of Democracy, the people of the region have been suppressed and colonized. The statement also mentions the series of human rights violations committed by the Indian force to the people of the region it further said that the people were tame time and again during election time and shattered the right to life of the people of the region.
The statement of the outfit further said that the total shut down called will be exempted for emergency services, and other ritual-related services.
