Election should be free and fair to ensure healthy democracy – Cornad K. Sangma

Chief Minister of Meghalaya, Conrad Kongkai Sangma, who is also the National President of the National People Party NPP said that the NPP has officially complaint to CEO and Chief Election Commission of India for taking necessary step to conduct the upcoming Manipur Legislative Assembly election in a Free and fair manner.
The NPP National President said this while speaking during a flag hosting Cum Public Meeting of Sheikh Noorul Hassan, the NPP candidate of Kshetrigao Kendra today .
Sangma expressed apprehension of certain poll related violence happening in the state and the various intimidation to the NPP candidates and the workers by armed group.
“Steps should be taken in the best possible way to provide enough security to the candidate to make sure that the upcoming election is conducted without fear and in a free and fair manner”, Conrad K Sangma said.
NPP candidate Sheikh Noorul Hassan, who is also the General Secretary (org.) of NPP , Manipur while speaking on the occasion said that the upcoming 12th Manipur Legislative Assembly Election, is very challenging. He said that it is time for the people to choose right Candidate to defeat communal candidate and to wipe out communal politics. He also said that the people should elect the candidate who can bring inclusive development in the Constituency.
The function was attended by Md. Abdul Ghaffar Khan, president NPP, Kshetrigao Unit as a President of this function. Deputy Chief Minister Yumnam Joykumar , the National Vice President of NPP, MLA Yumkham Erabot Singh , the NPP Candidate of Wangkhei Assembly Constituency and Huidrom Vikramjit Singh Vice President, NPP Manipur State and NPP Candidate Yaiskul Assembly Constituency and Md. Fajlur Rahman, Pradhan of Kshetrigao Part 1 Gram Parishad and Md. Abdul Quddus, Pradhan Kshetrigao Part 2 Gram Parishad also attended the function.
