Imphal, Jan 19:
The United Peoples Front (UPF) Manipur distributed textbooks for students in classes 1 to 8 at Phayeng High School Relief Camp. The initiative by the UPF aims to support children taking refuge at the camp following recent conflict.
During the event, UPF President N. Rupachandra highlighted the disparity in textbook access between students attending government schools and those enrolled in private schools. While the Manipur government has supplied textbooks to government school students, children in private schools have not received the same support, leaving many families struggling to afford the necessary materials.
N. Rupachandra stressed the importance of education, stating that it is the “backbone of society,” and urged for continued efforts to ensure that all students, regardless of their school affiliation, have access to the resources they need to continue their studies.
