The All Manipur United Clubs’ Organisation (AMUCO) commemorated its 32nd Foundation Day today with a series of initiatives, including a free eye camp cum distribution of spectacles. The event, organized by the Sanjenbam Khunou Development Club (SKDC), was held at Nongpok Sanjenbam Khunou in Imphal East District in collaboration with Yaima Eye Hospital, Khagempalli Pankha Huidrom Leikai.
The camp began at 9:30 a.m. and was led by a team from Yaima Eye Hospital, including optometrists N. Anjali and Priya, along with camp coordinator L. Rishikanta. Other staff members, including Roshni, Ajay, Gaijinlu, Yujilika, and Jassica, actively participated in conducting eye examinations and distributing spectacles.
SKDC members worked diligently to ensure the success of the camp, reflecting their commitment to the welfare of local residents. AMUCO Vice President K. Helen, Secretary Organisation Laishram Krishnachandra, Assistant Secretary Organisation Y. Inaocha, and Executive Member M. Premjit @ Thabi attended the program.
A total of 180 individuals, including men, women, and children, registered for the free eye check-ups. The camp provided spectacles to those in need and offered further treatment options for those requiring advanced medical care, including surgery. Arrangements for follow-up procedures were facilitated for critical cases.
This initiative is part of AMUCO’s ongoing efforts to promote unity and welfare in Manipur. It also serves as a precursor to the main event on February 12, 2025, which will mark AMUCO’s official Foundation Day celebration.
