Untimely demise of Chairman Isak Chishi Swu impacts Naga Solution

Kumbi, Aug. 13: The untimely demise of NSCN-IM Chairman Isak Chishi Swu and his prolong illness has adversely impacted the peace process between the Government of India and the NSCN-IM over find a speedy solution to the vex Naga Problem, said a joint statement of the NSCN-IM and the Government of India signed by Th Muivah . The Joint statement said that the Political initiative of the Govt. of India and the NSCN to amicably resolve the Naga political issue has recieved a new urgency and impetus during the last two year.
“The talks have become more purposeful, ;less ritualistic, more forthnight and far more frequent and it help building unprecedented mutual understanding and trust”, the joint statement said.
The joint statement credited the Narendra Modi government for the successful signing of the historic framwork agreement on August 3, 2015. The agreement is termed as a roadmap to settle the political parameters of the final solution of the vex Naga solution.
Both the government of India interlocutor and the NSCN General Secretary said that the talk has been progressing in right direction with determination .
“We are closer than ever before to the final settlement and hope to conclude it sooner or later”, the statement added.
