UNM-M Chairman Rev. Dr. Tamthing Ruivanao passes away

Founding member and Chairman of the United NGOs Mission–Manipur, Rev. Dr. Tamthing Ruivanao, breathed his last on 21 November 2025 at Raj Medicity Hospital, Imphal, following an illness. His demise has left the organisation, colleagues and the wider community in deep grief.
In a condolence message signed by Secretary Dr. I. Pishak Singh, the UNM-M paid tribute to Dr. Tamthing’s exemplary leadership and lifelong commitment towards human rights and development of minorities in Manipur. Since the very inception of UNM-M, he had been playing an important role in strengthening the organisation, striving for a discrimination-free society, and working tirelessly for the upliftment of marginalised communities.
The organization said that his contributions toward peacebuilding, human rights protection, and community development had a lasting impact on the state. His sudden death, it added, left a space in the UNM-M and beyond that couldn’t be filled.
It further expressed its deepest condolences to his family and said that Dr. Tamthing’s legacy of integrity, compassion, and service would continue to inspire effort in the quest for a just and humane society.
