UNLF clarifies

Proscribed United National Liberation Front (UNLF) led by Koireng has clarified that Konsam Sanatomba, 44, from Lamlong, who was reportedly arrested by the Manipur Police at Telepati on August 9, 2026, for allegedly attempting to extort money from non-Manipuri people by threatening them, has no connection with the UNLF or its armed wing, the Manipur People’s Army (MPA).

In a statement issued by Secretary, Publicity, M. Sak Hen, the UNLF referred to a social media post by the Manipur Police regarding Konsam Sanatomba’s arrest.

The UNLF also warned that strict action would be taken against anyone found using the name of the outfit or its armed wing, the MPA, to carry out extortion or other illegal activities.
