Imphal, Nov 3: Combined troop of Heingang Police and 30 Assam Rifles apprehended one UNLF cadre along with a .32 pistol with 3 live rounds during a search operation conducted at Koirengei area on Monday evening. The apprehended cadre has been identified as Takhellambam Inaocha Singh @ John @ Thoungamba (31) son of Surchandra Singh of Yairipok Bamol Leikai. He is presently staying at Koirengei Mamang Leikai under Heingang Police station. Police source said that he received training from the outfit in 19th batch and his army number is 1029. He holds the rank of Private, it added.
In another incident, troops of the 44 Assam Rifles of 10 Sector AR under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South) apprehended an individual along with 130 gms of ganja on November 1. The apprehendee was identified as Mr Angam, aged 22 yrs, S/o Mr S Ruth, resident of Nampisha, PO – Litan, PS – Chassad, Dist – Ukhrul and was handed over to the Chassad Police Station.
