Imphal, Nov 3: Words of war continue between two major civil society organisations of the state over the differences to the date of the burning of Meitei historical manuscript Puya. After Meitei National Front and EKOP had justified their stand of the burning of the Meitei Manuscript on 23rd of Wakching (Traditional Calendar), ACOAM Lup Kangleipak today said that there is no scientific proved to it. In a press conference held today at the Office of the ACOAM Lup, President of the organisation Ksh. Somorendra said that the burning of the manuscript as on 17th of Mera month (Traditional Calendar) of 1732 AD. Reacting to the statement made by the members of the MNF and EKOP regarding the observation of the Puya Mei Thaba Numit (Burning of Meitei historical Manuscript) on any day, the ACOAM Lup ridicules them saying that observing the day on any date would mean humiliation of the Manipuri history. Somerendro further said that MNF and EKOP should have the guts to apologies to the people instead of trying to mislead the people.
