Umang Lai Kanba Apunba Lup (UKAL) today stated that it will observe Umang Lai Haraoba rituals by following the exact guidelines for three days from 12th Feb at the campus of Iboyaima Shumang Leela Shanglen, Imphal.
Addressing a press conference today at the campus of Iboyaima Shumang Leela Shanglen, Mutum Maniton, Convenor, UKAL said the festival is being organised by the Department of Planning and Department of Arts and Culture, Govt. of Manipur. The festival will follow the right guidelines and procedures which were once followed by our ancestors. Maniton further said that the trend of observing the festival is changing nowadays by adding irrelevant dances and songs, costumes, prayers, instruments of playing music, etc. In order to save the festival from ruining its originality UKAL aims to observe the festival following actual rituals, added Maniton.
