The Universal Friendship Organisation earlier known as Meitei Huyel Langlon Sintam Sanglen, Satjal Academy of Heirok Part-III Ngainathel (Ngarouthel) branch observed its 15th rising Day celebration at Heirok Ngarouthel Community hall in Thoubal District today.
The Celebration begins Education Minister Thokchom Radheshyam with Satjal members giving general salute to the “Pakhangba” flag, symbol of Satjal along with the theme song of Satjal.
The formal function was attended by the Up- Adhaksha of Thoubal Zilla Parishad T.Nungshi Singh, Chairman of K.M. Blooming Higher Secondary School, Khangabok Kh.Menjor Mangang, President of All Manipur Apunba Nupi Samaj Th.Ramani Devi and Advocate Legal Aid Council, Imphal West Khuraijam Kanta Singh as chief guest, president and guests of honour respectively.
Around 700 members from different branches of the organisation and locals also attended the function. At least 100 members wearing black uniform gave salute during the flag hoisting of the organisation.
Speaking at the function, Commander of Special Duty UFO, Khomba said that the organisation was set up for a non-violent world. The organisation was formed on four main objectives: to inculcate discipline among the elder and the younger generations, to bring back the lost culture, to spread awareness on the values of justice and to save the Meetei religion, he said.
Khomba also said that emotional integrity is needed to bring peace in the State. He further elaborated that the loss of culture will lead to loss of identity, loss of identity leads to loss of community.
