Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray will visit Ram Temple in Ayodhya in Uttar Pradesh, on March 7, to seek blessings of Lord Ram, to mark 100 days in power in the Shiv Sena-NCP-Congress coalition Government.
Thackeray has also invited everyone to be a part of this historic journey, which will include senior Shiv Sena ministers, the Thackeray family and Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut. Thackeray has also invited the NCP and Congress leaders to join him and offer prayers on Sarayu riverbanks.
This will be Thackeray’s first visit to Ayodhya, after his party severed ties with the BJP and the NDA over sharing of power after the results of the Maharashtra elections were declared in October last year. The Sena subsequently joined hands with the NCP and Congress to form a coalition government.
He was sworn in as the chief minister of the Maha Vikas Aghadi on November 28, 2019. He had last visited Ayodhya in June 2019 and offered prayers at the makeshift Ram Lalla temple along with 18 newly-elected MPs of his party.
Shiv Sena, a former ally of Bharatiya Janata Party, is a strong supporter of the construction of a Ram Temple at the Ramjanmabhoomi site in Ayodhya. It has been more than three months since the Shiv Sena took a turn for the secular, but the party has not forgotten its roots.
Raut said, “Maharashtra CM Uddhav Thackeray will visit Ayodhya on the completion of 100 days in power to seek the blessings of Lord Ram. We want that our alliance leaders should also come along. Rahul Gandhi also visits several temples.”
In the meanwhile the Prime Minister Narendra Modi has already announced formation of the 10-member body, which comprises seven members, three trustees and five nominated members. The lawyer who represented the Hindu parties during the Ayodhya title dispute case, religious leaders from across the country, a Nirmohi Akhada member, Ayodhya locals and a representative from the Dalit community are among the 10 members of the “Ram Janmabhoomi Teertha Kshetra trust”. The Union Government has also decided to transfer 67.703-acre land to the trust, which will have its registered office in Delhi.
