United Committee Manipur (UCM) had paid floral tribute to June 18 Martyrs at Kekrupat on Langban Houba ( the first day of Manipuri Lunar month Langban) on Sunday. Large number of people joined the tribute paying ceremony at Kekrupat . Speaking to reporters, a representative of UCM said that the tribute is being paid according to the ritual traditions of the Manipuri people as the lunar month of Langban is observed as the month that the Manipuri people paid tribute to their ancestors. He added that the June 18 martyrs had sacrificed their lives for the protection of the territorial integrity of the state and the people of the state need to be reminded about their sacrifices.
