Imphal Dec 8: Women Action for Development (WAD), as a part of the world fortnight observation protesting against crimes on women, today pulled up two worse criminal cases; the alleged rape of 14 years old, mentally retarded minor girl of Khurai Kongpal Laishram Leikai on 27th Oct, 2011 and the alleged rape case of 4 years old girl of Pangei Yangdong on 30th July, 2014.
Under the initiative of WAD along with a team of media personnel today visited the family of the two victims.
Speaking with media persons, mother of the 14 years old victim girl said the culprit, identified as Thokchom Bhoge (30), s/o. Th. Rupahcandra of Kongpal Laishram Leikai is still at large. She lamented that the accused is roaming freely which is creating fear psychosis environment. She appealed to provide justice and re-arrest the culprit and book accordingly.
While addressing reporters, mother of the another 4 years old victim said her daughter has been raped by the land owner identified as Laishram Bijoy (52), s/o. L. (l) Gambhir of Pangei Bazar. She said he is at large and no compensation or any assistance has been given to the family so far.
According to Heingang Police, a charge sheet has been framed on 30th July, 2014 (Charge Sheet no. 13) but yet to submit due to technical defect.
