Tripartite Talk: UNC questions Govt. over delay in materialising demand

Imphal, Nov 10: Third round of tripartite talk between the Government of Manipur, Central Government and the United Naga Council (UNC) was held today at Senapati district head quarter. The talk begins at 9.30 am and concluded at 3.00 pm.
During the talk representatives of UNC led by its president Gaidon Kamei questioned the government authority for the delay in materialising the demands of the UNC. A heated argument took place between the representatives of Manipur Government and the UNC, a report said. It added that the government authority assured the UNC to settle the matter within a specific time frame by consulting with all stake holders. Agriculture Minister V, Hangkhalian, Education Minister Th. Radheshyam, TD Minister N. Kaisii, Additional CS Dr. Suresh Babu and works Commisioner K Radhakumar attended the talk. Satyendra Garg was also present as center’s representative.
As per resolution, the state govt. will initiat consultation with stakeholders and prepare proposal on the demand of the UNC by 2nd week of February, 2018. Next round of meeting is scheduled on Feb, 23, 2018.
