Imphal, Dec 30:

A fitting tribute was paid to late NK Sanajaoba, a pioneering journalist and multifaceted personality, on the occasion of his 88th birth anniversary observed today at Lamyanba Pakhang Sanglen, Palace Compound.
Sanajaoba, remembered for his fearless investigative journalism that exposed corruption and misconduct within government departments, served as the editor of Lamyanba Journal. His work, particularly under the pen name “Thengra” in his column Yukhal Marumda, highlighted the grotesque practices of powerful individuals and earned him a reputation for integrity and uncompromising truth.
The event was attended by notable figures, including former UNLF leader RK Sanayaima, also known as Meghen, who joined the floral tribute ceremony. Speaking to reporters, Sanayaima described NK Sanajaoba as a revolutionary, a visionary leader, a journalist, and a dedicated social worker.
“Tamo (NK Sanajaoba) was a multifaceted leader whose unwavering integrity and dedication to the welfare of the people of the region remain an inspiration,” said Sanayaima. He emphasized the need for the current generation to learn from Sanajaoba’s example of resilience and commitment to justice, which he never compromised even in the face of challenges.
L. Jadumani, General Secretary of the NK Sanajaoba Memorial Trust, spoke about the importance of honoring the courage and legacy of the late journalist. “NK Sanajaoba’s work, which boldly pointed out the flaws of the government, continues to resonate. Observing his 88th birth anniversary is a reminder of the values he stood for,” Jadumani said.
