Tribal students’ body today warns serious form of agitations if the government fails to fulfill the demands put up by them in regards of the Indira Gandhi National Tribal University Complex of Makhan Village in Senapati district. In a press meet jointly organised by All Naga Students’ Association, Manipur (ANSAM), Kuki Students’ Organisation (KSO) General head Quarters and Indira Gandhi National Tribal University Students’ Union (IGNTSU), General Secretary of ANSAM Jonash said that the tribal students’ bodies had met the Chief Minister in February, 2015 regarding the demands for development of the Makhan Campus. The student’s leader said that during the meeting the Chief Minister had assured the students’ body to start the development of the campus within two months. “Two months has been completed and no works has been taken up in the campus said Jonash.
On the other hand the joint students’ body has been putting a halt to the construction of class rooms by NPCC Pvt. Limited. P Lupheng, President of KSP General head Quarters said that the class rooms which is mean for 30 students is being constructed for 20 students’ capacity only. He urged the government authority to jointly investigate over the matters with the representatives of the student union.
The leaders of the students’ body said that if the government do not take up immediate measures to fulfill the demands then the students will left with no other means but to launch serious form of agitations.
