Traffic diverted after Bailey bridge collapse in Churachandpur

Traffic movement along a key stretch in Churachandpur district has been disrupted following the collapse of a Bailey bridge over the Tuivai river at Km 120+975, between Sinzawl and Khuanggin.
The District Administration of Churachandpur has directed the National Highways & Infrastructure Development Corporation Ltd. to restore the bridge on a war footing. In a statement, the administration said that NHIDCL has initiated immediate steps for the procurement and installation of a replacement Bailey bridge. Restoration work is being carried out on priority to ensure early resumption of normal traffic movement.
In the meantime, all vehicular traffic has been diverted via the Sinzawl–Dialkhai–Churachandpur route along NH-02. Commuters have been advised to follow the alternative route and adhere to traffic advisories issued by the authorities.
The District Administration has assured that all necessary measures are being taken to restore connectivity at the earliest and has sought public cooperation to ensure smooth traffic management and safety.
