In a humanitarian initiative aimed at assisting travellers affected by the continuing crisis in Manipur, the Working Committee of the Tangkhul Naga Long (TNL) has launched a 24-hour emergency helpline for commuters using the alternative Ukhrul–Kamjong route.
In a travel advisory issued on Friday, the TNL Working Committee said the helpline has been introduced to support motorists and passengers travelling through the hill districts, particularly at a time when the ongoing conflict and the monsoon season have made road travel increasingly difficult.
According to the advisory, travellers who encounter emergencies such as losing their way, medical problems, vehicle breakdowns, road accidents, or those requiring food and temporary shelter may seek immediate assistance through the round-the-clock helpline.
The emergency contact numbers released by the organisation are Yarui I: +91 96127 44804 and Yarui II: +91 98621 44506.
The TNL Working Committee appealed to commuters facing any difficulty along the route to make use of the helpline, assuring that every effort would be made to coordinate timely assistance and facilitate the required support.
