Armed group, the Kangleipak Communist Party (PWG) MC Unification has alleged that PAARI Mutual Benefit Nidhi Ltd. (Halal Finance) collected nearly Rs. 45.95 crore from investors in Manipur and announced a boycott of Kshetrigao MLA Sheikh Noorul Hassan in future elections over his alleged links with the company.
In a statement issued by its PRO, Chingkheinganba, the outfit claimed that its investigation found the company had mobilised Rs. 45,95,35,000 from investors. It further alleged that meetings were held at the residence of Sheikh Noorul Hassan to encourage people to invest.
The outfit warned of action against those allegedly involved in mobilising investors and named Social Welfare Director Sheikh Abdul Hakim as Chairman of the company, along with several directors and individuals it claimed were associated with the MLA.
The organisation appealed to the public to remain vigilant, alleging that large sums had been collected from ordinary people at a time of worsening economic conditions in the state.
