In a press statement, signed by Comrade Nonglen Meitei, Secretary Publicity and Propaganda of Maoist, the outfit said that the failure of the people to come up and demand to release R.K. Meghen immediately is a setback for the 50 years old Manipuri Revolution. It said that Human Rights Organization, Civil Society Organizations, Intellectuals and journalists did not make any comment on political prisoner till now.
It further said that “free political prisoner movement” has spread all over the world. But in Manipur there is no impact of the movement as of now. This means that there is no competent Civil Society Organization, Intellectual and Journalists.
