Memory Travel, a passenger bus plying in between Chandel and Imphal bearing Regd. No. MN-01 1742 was set on fire by unknown miscreants at Liwa Khullen Sarei Village in Chandel District late last night.
The ill fated bus was stationed on a stream near the steel bailey bridge of Liwa Khullen Sarei village along Pallel-Chandel road after it skidded off the road about 20 feets and fell on the stream last Sunday.
According to the police source, the ill fated bus was laying along the stream near the steel bailey bridge at Liwa Khullen Sarei after an accident in which 8 passengers got injured on last Sunday. And information about the bus being set on fire was received today at around 7 in the morning. However, the identity and motive of the miscreant for the setting the bus on fire is still not known, said the source.
